The International Guild of Affectologists - I.G.A. - is the representative body for psychotherapists operating, either exclusively or as an integral approach, in the realm of affect-driven mental and emotional health. It also represents those who have studied affectology at a Guild approved school and continue to be involved in research in affectology, but may not be practicing. MISSION STATEMENT: I.G.A. serves as a collegiate organ to bring together practitioners and student/researchers whose focus is the new concepts and contemporary interest in Affective Neuroscience. It seeks to create and maintain cross-communication between those whose discrete practice focus is "affect" and those who have an interest, yet are involved in affective modes of operation in therapy in an integrative manner. It serves at all times to advance the interests of the health and wellbeing of people who are seeking assistance with affect (emotional) or affect-related problems, actively excluding interest or support of any drugs or medication. |
