MONITORING of THERAPY OUTCOMES
This page refers only to, and is confined to, Guild members who either (1) have attained registered Af-x®status, or (2) are under observation (via ESR - see below) in order to attain that registration. Desire to achieve Af-x registration is entirely voluntary.
Additional to its mission of "bringing together" those of like interest, the Guild acts as a monitoring body for Clinical Affectologists and Af-x Practitioners throughout the world. Its brief includes:
THE ESR SYSTEM - Efficacy Study Research
Prior to the formation of this Guild, its predecessor, the International Affectology Association oversaw the operation of an unique feedback efficacy system that "proved" success rates experienced by clients of individual practitioners.
It is rare (in fact, unknown) for any psychotherapeutic modality to conduct ongoing feedback (efficacy) studies in order to qualify any raison d'être for its existence or its claims toward effectiveness. Clinical Affectology, and more specifically, the Af-x registration process has conducted MANDATORY efficacy studies related to success rates of all registrants and aspiring registrants for a decade and a half.
This system is now administered by the Guild. For details about how the ESR system works, go to the ESR Detail page.
